Jim Casey:
Owner/Project Manager
Jim Casey is a researcher and educator at heart. He earned a Masters degree in Natural Resource Science from the University of Idaho and a BS in Agriculture at Washington State University before starting his career in construction.
Jim draws from his experience as an educator daily. He serves as the conduit and communicator between clients, architects and subcontractors. Despite making a “career change” he has found the work mostly the same. Create clear expectations and make sure everyone has the tools and information they need to succeed.
Construction has also provided him an exciting context to apply his research skills. The construction environment is a dynamic place with new materials and installation practices constantly evolving. Jim applies a very scientific mind to understanding building science. He prides himself on being able to take in all of the data, weigh the tradeoffs and help light the path forward.
He built a custom home for his family in 2023.
Sam Parish:
Owner/Superintendent
Sam’s professional background is in both construction and architecture. While in high school and college, Sam worked for a contractor on Orcas Island. This experience sparked his interest in the building industry, which led him to attain a degree in architectural design from the University of Washington. After working for several years in a residential architecture firm in Seattle, Sam decided his true calling was to work in the field as opposed to in an office, and went back to construction. Sam has worked for several different construction companies in Northwest Washington but was always interested in having a leadership role in a construction company. This led him to jump at the opportunity to form a company with Jim in 2020.
Having worked in both architecture and construction has given Sam a unique perspective of the entire building process. Sam’s career has given him experience in creating and refining initial design concepts, developing these into final building plans, obtaining building permits, and physically building houses and other structures.
Outside of work, Sam is passionate about sailing, mountain biking, and skiing. He lives in a small cabin with his wife, son, and dog on Guemes island.
